On Race and Class In Harvard Square

As William A. Jacobson suggests at legal’in’sur’rec’tion, this confrontation appears to be less about race, and more about class.
After all, we are indeed talking about a “supremely educated” and elitist Harvard Professor (with a racist-oriented chip on his shoulder) versus an “educated but non-academic police sergeant.”
