Spying On Sea Lions vs. Spying On Terrorists

Since the CIA and the State Department managed to fumble the data that would have prevented the bomber from getting on the plane, don’t think it would be a great idea that they spend less time spying on sea lions (or its equivalent), watching glaciers, and watching climate change - and instead, put more effort back into spying on Islamic terrorists?

Who in the hell came up with the not-so-bright idea of diverting the CIA from its intended mission of gathering intelligence to enhance American national security and to conduct covert operations against our enemies - to watching ice melt, or freeze, depending on the time of year, anyway!

On second thought, what else would one expect from an administration that tries enemy combatants in civilian courts, allows them to lawyer up, frees Gitmo killers to rejoin the fight against us, and can’t utter the words “war on terror” and “Islamic terrorists.”
