CBS News (Video): You won’t believe the costs of Congressional junket to Copenhagen

The bill comes up to over $1.1 million.

CBS reports that thanks to recently filed Congressional expense reports there’s new light shed on the Copenhagen Climate Summit in Denmark and how much it cost taxpayers. Simply put, the costs are incredibly high, and most gallingly, the spouses and family were included in the free (for them - not American taxpayers) trip to Copenhagen. As Ed Morrissey points out at Hot Air, when people travel on business in the private sector, they pay for their spouses and family on the rare occasions they accompany the employee.

Little wonder that CBS News reports that no one wants to talk about the massive bill in light of American economic troubles:

And to think that all that money was a complete waste of time spent for a faux crisis (a must-read) that has never existed and never will (at least not as the result of what man does or doesn’t do).
